From the Nominating Committee:

One of our most important tasks is helping to select a Call Committee as we select a new pastor. Our constitution provides for a 6 person committee, and we will be looking for diversity, including tenure at Grace, gender, youth representation, a member of our Profile committee, and likely a member of the council. We welcome people interested in this work to let one of us on the committee know, and to fill out our brief questionnaire (available in the narthex) and return it to Melanie McQuaig. This can also be done by email to melanie@mcqw.com. Our deadline is Feb 19, as we intend to select our 6 person group Feb 20. We anticipate a congregational meeting on March 10 at which time our recommended slate of members will be voted upon, and consideration given to nominees from the floor. We are working thru these steps with input from Bishop Wells to make it an open and efficient process and look forward to nominating a strong, diverse and effective Call Team.

Ministry Site Profile Task Team Update

Ministry Site Profile Task Team Update:

A congregational survey was mailed in late December looking for congregational input for the Ministry Site Profile. Please take some time to complete the survey and return it to the church office. Blank copies of the survey are available on the “Council” board in the Church Narthex. In addition, if you choose, you can complete the survey online by visiting: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GLCMSP201212

As we prayerfully walk through the call process for a new rostered leader (s) for Grace Lutheran Church, we ask for your assistance in completing the information.

As part of the call process, Grace Lutheran church is asked to complete the Ministry Site Profile document and submit it to the Eastern Washington – Idaho Synod of the ELCA. The Ministry Site Profile Task Force Team will use the information in drafting the responses needed for the survey. The Task Team will present a draft version of the survey to the council for review, followed by a presentation to the congregation for review. Watch the bulletin and newsletter for announcements of those dates.

Ministry Site Profile Listening Sessions … The Ministry Site Profile (MSP) Listening Sessions are continuing with gusto! Members are encouraged to attend at least one session each week as a new topic is presented each week. Sessions will last for approximately 45 minutes. The outline of topics for each week is listed below; it is also posted on the council bulletin board in the Narthex. In addition, forms are available on the bulletin board to allow members to provide written comments and drop in the MSP Surveys Input box. The overall objective of the MSP process is to complete the Ministry Site Profile and submit it to the Synod office to be used in the Call Process.

Session schedule: Sundays – 9:00 am; Wednesdays – 10:00 am; Wednesdays – 6:30 pm.
