THE COMPASSIONATE FRIENDS This national, non-profit, self-help organization offers friendship, understanding and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. This is a grief support group to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to others and to be supportive. We welcome residents of the Wenatchee Valley area to attend our meeting the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 P.M. at Grace Lutheran. For more information, please call Carol at 509-665-9987.
FELLOWSHIP TEAM - Our mission is to share the Gospel through relationships – we form relationships through community – we build community through events that bring people together for fellowship and fun. Fellowship Team meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 4:00 P.M. in the church library.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY of the Greater WenatcheeArea - We are a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry working to eliminate poverty housing in our community and around the world, and to make housing a matter of conscience and action. We strive to build simple, decent, affordable housing for those in need of adequate housing who may be unable to purchase a home through conventional means, while empowering families to help themselves. Since our inception in 1990, Habitat for Humanity for the Greater Wenatchee Area has built 41 homes providing safe and affordable housing for over 200 adults and children. Please visit our website at www.wenatchehfh.org - or contact us at (509) 663-1889 – or habitat@nwi.net for more information.
PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY meets at 10:00 A.M. the 4th Thursday of each month. The shawls are created, dedicated and blessed in our service of worship, and given to people to remind them of God’s surrounding and covering love, healing power, strength, comfort and peace. If you do not yet know how to knit or crochet, but would like to learn, come to the meeting and there will be someone to help you get started. Call Ruth Westby at 886-0375 or Edie Larkin at 665-0637 for more information.
SOCIAL CONCERNS TEAM - Our focus is on ”helping the Lord do His Work by providing to those with needs beyond their capabilities.” We do this through hands on work, financial support and advocacy. We support such local ministries and agencies as Hospitality House, Haven of Hope, Women’s Resource Center, Solomon’s Porch, Jail Ministries and Local Food Banks. We provide office space for Habitat For Humanity as well as participate in building projects. We also provide residence for a Respite Care Program Monday through Thursday at Grace. Helping Hands Projects assist church members and others. We have raised thousands of dollars for globall projects, such as tsunami disaster victims in Indonesia and building a new classroom for the MaaSae Lutheran School in Tanzania. We provide on-going financial support for The New Life Mission Program in Nicaragua which focuses on sponsoring children who live in extreme poverty. Through our sponsorships, these children receive education, food and medical treatment. We also support numerous ministries through the work of our Synod and the national programs of the ELCA.
